Daily Paws Privacy Policy

We at Daily Paws and its parent BMP Holdings LLC (together “Daily Paws”) value the privacy of our users and members. If you’ve hidden a bone or some catnip in a secret place, we have no intention of ever revealing it. This privacy policy describes how we treat the personal information of our members and pertains to the use of the Daily Paws web site at www.dailypaws.com. This Privacy Notice is incorporated into and is subject to the Daily Paws Terms of Use. Your use of the Daily Paws site and any personal information you provide on the Daily Paws site remains subject to the terms of this Privacy Notice and our Terms of Use.

Please note that any image or other content posted onto the Daily Paws site becomes published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Privacy Notice.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

Daily Paws collects certain information from its users, as described below:

  • Information Provided by Users: You provide certain personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address) to Daily Paws when registering on the Daily Paws site and subscribing to alerts or other mailing lists.
  • Cookies: When you visit the Daily Paws site, we may send one or more cookies - a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters - to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. Daily Paws uses these cookies for a number of purposes, including to: a) access your information when you sign in; b) keep track of preferences you specify; c) display the most appropriate advertising, based on your interests and activity on Daily Paws; d) study our total audience size and traffic; or e) research ways to improve Daily Paws' content and services. Daily Paws may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser help file directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Daily Paws site may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.
  • Log File Information: When you use the Daily Paws site, our servers (or third party tracking services we engage) automatically record certain information that your web browser sends whenever you visit any website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser language, referring / exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, the date and time of your request, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
  • Web Beacons: When you use the Daily Paws site, we may employ web beacons, or "clear GIFs" which are used to track the online usage patterns of our users in a non-personally-identifiable manner. The information collected through these web beacons is used to find out more about our users, for more accurate reporting, improve the effectiveness of our marketing, and to make Daily Paws better. In addition, we may also use web beacons in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened by recipients.

INFORMATION USE

Generally, Daily Paws does not share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies without your consent except to provide products or services you've requested.

We may release personally identifiable information and/or non-personally-identifiable information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.

Daily Paws also reserves the right to disclose personally identifiable information and/or non-personally-identifiable information that Daily Paws believes, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to enforce our Terms of Use, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend itself against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, to protect the security or integrity of our web site, and to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Daily Paws, our users or others.

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose online (on discussion boards, in messages, on profile pages, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. Your account name (not your email address) is displayed to other users when you upload content to the Daily Paws site. Any content that you submit to the Daily Paws site may be redistributed through the internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by the general public.

Daily Paws does share non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous User usage data, referring / exit pages and URLs, platform types, number of clicks, etc.) with interested third-parties to assist them in understanding the usage patterns for certain content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality on the Daily Paws site.

THIRD PARTY ADVERTISING

Ads appearing on this Web site may be delivered to users by Daily Paws or one of our Web advertising partners. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the Daily Paws site. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content you see. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies and other technologies by Daily Paws and does not cover any third party advertisers.

MERGER, SALE OR BANKRUPTCY

In the event that Daily Paws is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information we have collected from our Users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors' rights generally, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred, or used.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

Daily Paws may update this policy at any time for any reason. Please revisit this page to stay aware of any changes. Your continued use of the Daily Paws site constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Notice and any future revisions.
